About Melrose Music Society

Melrose Music Society has been bringing classical and contemporary music of international standard to Melrose and the Scottish Borders for 50 years.

Every year since its founding in 1962 the Society has presented a season of chamber concerts, running from October to April, performed by artists of national and international reknown. Many of our visiting artists are young professional musicians already established on the concert platform and Radio 3.

Our concerts and recitals take place at one of two venues in the heart of Melrose: the Parish Church Hall or the Morrison Hall of St Mary's School. Our concerts are open to all, though Society members qualify for significant discounts and other advantages - please see Membership and Tickets for details.

So often one's enjoyment of good music is limited to what can be offered on the airwaves or on CD: the experience of live performance of the very highest standards, in intimate surroundings, is something quite different.

We are grateful for the continued support of our members, audiences, sponsors and Enterprise Music Scotland (on behalf of the Scottish Arts Council).
